We tend to think that the current vogue for minimalism is new and modern, but it can be seen as repeating the attitude to interior decoration a hundred years ago. The ideals of William Morris and the British Arts & Crafts movement were a reaction against the over decoration and fussiness of the Victorian age. This movement influenced a wide number of individual potters and potteries across Britain which is now collectively described as British Art Pottery. It created a dramatic change in the shape and design of ceramics at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century.

Come and see our selling exhibition at Antiques at Heritage , Woodstock. We will be displaying examples of pottery and potters from the period 1880 to the 1920`s. It will include, among others, examples of Burmantofts, the Martin Brothers, William de Morgan, Linthorpe and Sir Edmund Elton .
